是考試?那真得樓主自己來啦.都跟老外上了至少一個學期,相信lz水平牛.
雖然出於學術尊重,不能幫你做功課,不過關於對書的理解,建議可以找書評來看--書評會有提及文章關鍵大意,而且,多個書評可能從多角度分析,對開拓思維,及加深對原文的理解非常好.中英文的各類書評都很多的.
文章的話,lz覺得《紅樓夢》如何？這個文章在對中國有所了解的老外，尤其是語言文學出身的外教中還是比較出名的。其實無論如何，還得看lz的書評了。
（話說回來，之前想到的幾本書，好是好，可惜太長了；如果lz本來就讀過，那就另論。樓上建議的那本the catcher in the eye 麥田裡的守護者，個人也很喜歡；不過，也有認為其意識形態不能為所有人接受；此外，就是其描寫涉及瞞多心理上的折射，原文涵義據說很深，且原書也不短，如果時間倉促，還請lz斟酌。Good luck！ ）
