Ⅰ 求英語習慣用語
1. Hold on 等一下 （口語中，人們不太用wait a minute）如果兩人辯論，吵架，抬杠，你要別人「打住」，可以說，hold it right there. 也可以說說：Bear with me for a moment. 或者Hang on,都是「等一下」的意思。
2. I cannot take it any more. 我再也無法忍受了。前面還可以加上一句：Don't push me. 不要再逼我呀。 同樣意思的句子還有：I cannot stand him any longer. 或者說，I am so fed up with your nonsense.
3. Don't take it out on me! 不要把氣出在我身上。
4. Cut, 砍，剪，這個詞口語中有許多其他的意思。make the cut 在一群人中勝出。Out of a pool of twenty applicants, only 3 made the cut.在二十人申請中，只有三人獲得錄取。He has made the cut in the list. 他在一系列人中勝出獲選。俚語的意思是「我的那一份呢？」兩個土匪分贓，一個土匪說：Where is my cut? 現在你跟人談生意，談了半天也沒有見到自己的利益所在，你也可以說：Where is my cut? Cuts, $10.這里的cuts作「剪頭發」解釋。又作「減薪水」解釋："Management shouldn't get a reward while everybody else takes a cut." I was laid off e to workforce cut. 因為裁員，我別解僱了。cut out 有兩個意思，一是被動態，例句： I just don't think I'm cut out for music. 我根本就不是搞音樂的料。He has his work cut out for him in the company. 他在公司面臨重大挑戰。have one』s work cut out for you, 遇到難乾的工作。二是主動態，有停止的意思。例句：We cut out cable TV and have saved a lot of money. 我們斷了有線電視，省了不少錢。Let us cut a deal. 我們來做一筆交易吧。short cut，捷徑，There is no short cut for English learning. 學英語沒有捷徑可走。cut in line, 插隊。
5. Gut, I hate his guts. 我最討厭他。也有說I hate him guts. guts 是腸子，相當於「恨之入骨」的意思。He doesn』t have much guts. 他是個膽小鬼。 gut feeling 直覺 My guts tell me one thing, my mind tells me something quite different. 我的直覺告訴我是回事，但是我的理智卻告訴我說另外一件事。Go with your gut. Your instinct can usually steer you in the right direction. 就根據你的本能去做決定吧，你的直覺常常會把你帶到正確的方向。gut-wrenching ride with roller-coaster 坐過山車時翻江倒胃；
a gut issue, 涉及情感的問題；sweat out one』s guts；悶身汗出來（感冒就好了。）sweat out an exam；倍受考試煎熬。get down to the guts of a matter.談談問題的實質吧！
比較gutter: "gutter politics" in the midst of the presidential race，總統競選時挖對方的垃圾。
6. nuts, 果仁，核，意為「瘋子」時多用復數，但也有用單數的，He is nuts.或He is a nut.他有神經病。religious nut, 宗教狂熱分子。 He went nuts and killed a guy.他發瘋了，結果殺了一個人。You are driving me nuts. 你真是要把我逼瘋。a tough nut to crack, 一項艱巨的任務，一個難解之題。
7. rut, How is everything? (還好嗎？) I am just stuck in a rut, doing the same things every day. I wish I could do something different. (煩死了，每天都是干同樣的活，我真想換個活法。) rut 日常的，每天都如此，get in a rut，日復一日，天天如此。
8. I am just ecstatic about going to visit you soon. 馬上要見你，我高興死了。
9. A dap and dip 打個照面，露下臉就走。Matt: Are we going to Jon's party?我們去瓊的聚會嗎？Darryl: Yeah, but I don't want to stay long, so let's make it a dap and dip.那就去吧，不過我可不想多呆，我們打個照面就走人好了。
10. I would like to get a job within couching distance. 我想找個不用走路就可以上班的工作。Couching distance,沙發距離，就是坐在沙發上不起身也能夠得著。這是那種 couch potato喜歡做的美夢。

Cool：That』s cool! 等於台灣年輕人常用的囗語「酷！」，表示不賴嘛！用於人或事均可。
What』s up? = What』s happening?=What』s new? 見面時隨囗問候的話「最近在忙什麼？有什麼新鮮
事嗎？」一般的回答是「Nothing much!」或「Nothing new!」
Cut it out! = Knock it out！= Stop it! 少來這一套！同學之間開玩笑的話。
Don』t give me a hard time! 別跟我過不去好不好！
Get yourself together! 振作點行不行！
Do you have "the" time? 現在幾點鍾？可別誤以為人家要約你出去。
Hang in there. = Don』t give up. = Keep trying. 再撐一下。
Give me a break! 你饒了我吧！（開玩笑的話）

下垂的眼角、含糊不清的發音--這是西爾維斯特.史泰龍最為公認的兩大特點。可能很少人知道這實際上是在他出生時由於使用產鉗導致面部神經麻痹的結果。這些「特點」在他童年時給他帶來許多麻煩。
史泰龍的父親弗蘭克.史泰龍是發型師，母親傑奎琳.史泰龍是合唱團歌手。他童年時被寄養在別人家裡，寂寞的日子裡他靠看漫畫書來打發時間，為了 模仿書中的英雄，淘氣的他共斷掉過十一根骨頭。他曾有先後被十四所學校開除的記錄，最終他選擇了瑞士的美國學院，學習表演。他在學生創作的《推銷員之死》 中的表演大獲好評，這使他意識到表演是他一生的追求。
史泰龍回到美國之後進入了邁阿密大學戲劇系。但不幸的是當時沒有老師賞識他。他沒有修完就退了學，前往紐約去尋求發展。一個有趣的細節是，史泰龍的母親通過占卜認定他應該在寫作上有所突破，於是他開始了劇本創作。他靠做各種各樣的工作來付房租，有時也演一些小角色。
正在他尋找寫劇本的工作時，史泰龍碰巧看了一場拳王阿里和一個小拳手的比賽。小拳手居然與阿里苦鬥了15個回合。這給了史泰龍靈感，他用三天就 完成了拳手洛基的傳奇故事。由於他堅持由自己扮演洛基，讓許多製作人望而卻步。終於找到投資之後，《洛基》僅用了一個月就完成了。這匹1976年的黑馬一 舉賺得兩億兩千五百萬美元，並贏得了當年的奧斯卡最佳影片和最佳導演獎。史泰龍本人也獲得最佳男主角和劇本的提名。
「洛基」和另一個「少言寡語」的孤膽英雄蘭博(Rambo)給史泰龍帶來了極大的名氣和收入，這兩部系列電影至少賺了二十億美元。他為了擺脫角 色的束縛曾接演了一些喜劇片，但沒有獲得成功。回到動作片之後，英雄又獲得了喝彩。《爆破者》(Demonlition Man)、《炸彈專家》(The Specialist)、《最後的最後的刺客》(Assassins)以及近期的《十萬火急》(Daylight)都有不錯的口碑。為了證明自己也是一個 「嚴肅」的演員，史泰龍與羅伯特.德尼羅合作了電影《警察帝國》。其它由史泰龍主演的影片還有Capone, Comes the Watcher及《盜匪橫行》(Gangland)。 近期作品是由環球電影公司拍攝的恐怖片《亨特》，史泰龍擔當主角。

席爾維斯史泰龍( Sylvester Enzio Stallone), 1946年6月6日出生於美國紐約，小時候的史泰龍在同學眼中可一點都沒把他和動作片巨星連在一起，同學還覺得他是「最有可能在電椅上結束生命的人」，想想史泰龍日後的成就也算是揚眉吐氣了，當然，初入電影圈的史泰龍，免不了僅能接觸一些跑龍套的小角色，終於在演出自己編寫的劇本【洛基】後，小媳婦出頭天，而後的【反暴特勤組】及【Victory】雖然票房不如預期，但【第一滴血】藍波一角將史泰龍再往上推一層，觀眾愛死了這個話不多、堅毅不屈、怎麼折磨都不死的John Rambo。
史泰龍在螢幕上的表現為他獲得不少掌聲，曾被選為全球100大電影明星及列名於最頂尖的20名動作巨星之內的史泰龍並不以此為滿足，他【極速競賽】中就跳脫動作影片的制式框架，從題材的選擇到角色的詮釋，都可以看出史泰龍的用心，尤其是在片中談到關於「人生的第二個機會」這個概念，就某種程度而言就如同在形容史泰龍的演藝之路一樣，心理歷程的轉折相當清晰。
相信很多人都是從【洛基】開始認識席維斯史泰龍，也因為【洛基】這部影片滌訕史泰龍在好萊塢武打動作巨星的地位；雖然史泰龍以在好萊塢片酬排行榜中算是頂尖級的男演員，不過史泰龍更想突破的是爭取更寬廣的表演空間，尤其是他積極的想爭取喜劇及劇情類影片的演出，但觀眾及片商仍看好他矯健的身手，如【極速競賽】史泰龍仍有精采及高難度的動作表現。
可是別看史泰龍身手矯健，他卻有一個會終身伴隨著他的遺憾，那就是在他出生時，醫生使用產鉗的處理不當，造成他左臉的部分肌肉麻痹，所以在說話的時候會有些許的含糊不清，不過，人只要一紅，任何特徵都會變成特色，當史泰龍站上好萊塢一線男星的位置時，他獨特的發音反而和他俐落的表演一樣成為焦點。

席爾維斯史泰龍( Sylvester Enzio Stallone), 1946年6月6日出生於美國紐約，小時候的史泰龍在同學眼中可一點都沒把他和動作片巨星連在一起，同學還覺得他是「最有可能在電椅上結束生命的人」，想想史泰龍日後的成就也算是揚眉吐氣了，當然，初入電影圈的史泰龍，免不了僅能接觸一些跑龍套的小角色，終於在演出自己編寫的劇本【洛基】後，小媳婦出頭天，而後的【反暴特勤組】及【Victory】雖然票房不如預期，但【第一滴血】藍波一角將史泰龍再往上推一層，觀眾愛死了這個話不多、堅毅不屈、怎麼折磨都不死的John Rambo。
史泰龍在螢幕上的表現為他獲得不少掌聲，曾被選為全球100大電影明星及列名於最頂尖的20名動作巨星之內的史泰龍並不以此為滿足，他【極速競賽】中就跳脫動作影片的制式框架，從題材的選擇到角色的詮釋，都可以看出史泰龍的用心，尤其是在片中談到關於「人生的第二個機會」這個概念，就某種程度而言就如同在形容史泰龍的演藝之路一樣，心理歷程的轉折相當清晰。
相信很多人都是從【洛基】開始認識席維斯史泰龍，也因為【洛基】這部影片滌訕史泰龍在好萊塢武打動作巨星的地位；雖然史泰龍以在好萊塢片酬排行榜中算是頂尖級的男演員，不過史泰龍更想突破的是爭取更寬廣的表演空間，尤其是他積極的想爭取喜劇及劇情類影片的演出，但觀眾及片商仍看好他矯健的身手，如【極速競賽】史泰龍仍有精采及高難度的動作表現。
可是別看史泰龍身手矯健，他卻有一個會終身伴隨著他的遺憾，那就是在他出生時，醫生使用產鉗的處理不當，造成他左臉的部分肌肉麻痹，所以在說話的時候會有些許的含糊不清，不過，人只要一紅，任何特徵都會變成特色，當史泰龍站上好萊塢一線男星的位置時，他獨特的發音反而和他俐落的表演一樣成為焦點。
值得一提的是，史泰龍的母親可是另一位動作巨星成龍的影迷，也因為如此，這兩位頂尖的動作片演員可是私交甚篤呢！
